Ralf Rangnick
Man Utd lost 1-0 at Everton in their last outing

The interim boss of Manchester United says he has no regrets about taking the job.

The admission comes despite the fact that the club will miss the target of securing a place in next season's European competition.

Since taking over from Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, Rangnick has only won nine of 22 games.

He said he would do it again and again.

With seven games remaining, United are in seventh place, six points behind Spurs and with a worse goal difference.

The protests that took place outside the club's Carrington training complex on Friday involved more than two dozen supporters and was the latest in a series of issues that have been dealt with by Rangnick.

He said that as a manager you always have to question what you could have done better, but that he has no regrets about taking the job.

We are all aware that it is not an easy squad and the whole situation was not easy, but Ole would probably still be here.

We have shown in the past couple of months that we were able to raise the level but not in a sustainable way. That is the reason I am not happy with what we have achieved so far.

The protests on Friday will be followed by a bigger demonstration around the Saturday game.

There have been calls for fans to delay their entrance until the 17th minute, a reference to the 17 years of ownership by the Glazer family, which many blame for the club's lack of success in recent times.

They have the right to peacefully make their point, but they must give their players something to shout about.

Even if they do that, after those 17 minutes, they should still support the team and get behind us.

It is a game of give and take because how much they do depends on what we show on the pitch. We cannot expect them to support us no matter what.
