Drake London did not run the 40-yard dash at his pro day. London, who broke his ankle in late October, participated in a few cone drills and situational passing routes with several NFL scouts at USC. It takes six to eight weeks to train for the broad jump or vertical jump, London said. London described the post-injury process as painful, but said his recovery was quicker than expected. He felt that it was important for him to have a pro day to show scouts that he could move the same way he did before the injury, even if it was late in the draft process. London said that his body feels better, stronger, and faster. It's like my second year playing wide receiver and football. I feel better by the day. The pro day was conducted by Jordan Palmer and T.J. Houshmandzadeh and featured scouts from the Arizona Cardinals, Washington Commanders, San Francisco 49ers, New York Jets and Los Angeles Clippers. The Detroit senior personnel executive who has the No. 2 overall pick in the draft was in attendance. London joked that he should watch the film when asked about his speed. I don't have to blow by guys to catch the ball at the end of the day. I can, but I don't have to. I'm told, #USC WR Drake London will not be running a 40 at his pro day workout today. Here are his official measurements: • Hands: 9 3/8• Arm: 33 7/8• Wing: 79 5/8• Height: 6'3 7/8 • Weight: 213 lbs
London had a 1,000-yard season in eight games before his injury last year, and he had over 2,000 receiving yards in three years at USC. The former dual-sport athlete came into USC looking to play both basketball and football, but turned to football full time for the first time in his life ahead of his junior season.
London said that everyone knew where the ball was going, despite the defense. I could care less if they say that.
