  • In April, Embla Bergli performed a pole dancing routine at a senior center.

  • Bergli's video of her performance went viral with over 20 million views.

  • She told Insider that her mom set up the job for her.

When Embla Bergli decided to become a pole dancer, she was a software manager in Norway.

She told Insider that she was inspired by a woman who climbed up on a pole at a bar in Greece.

The attention-seeking girl that I am, I got inspired and started training as soon as I got home from the trip.

Bergli left her corporate job and became a full-time pole dancer after four years of training.

She said she was starting to get bored of her 9 to 5 life, and pole dancing was a great passion of hers.

Bergli has performed at parties and events for younger people since she started pole dancing. In April, her mom asked her to perform at a senior center for some members of a mental-health organization that she helps run.

Bergli said her mom wanted the members to have a lot of fun at the party since the Christmas one was canceled.

Bergli said that his mom called him because she wanted some spectacular entertainment for the party.

Bergli's performance at the senior center went viral after she posted a video of it on TikTok. At the time of writing, it had 20 million views.

Bergli told Insider that she stayed for about an hour after she did her routine, watching senior citizens attempt to pole dance themselves and even sign autographs. She said that the latter is not something she usually does.

She said that the seniors were excited to try it and were playful, grateful, and sober.

Bergli knows that some of the seniors in the video have enjoyed their newfound fame, and she said seeing her TikTok post go viral has been overwhelming.

She said that she is a performer and that she likes the attention.

Bergli was going to perform at several clubs in Ibiza, but now she is thinking about a senior-center tour.

Representatives for Majorstuen Seniorarena did not respond to the request for comment.
