Unlike other social media sites, it's not difficult to get rid of your account and get some mental health and sanity back in your life. One caveat to deletion is that it must be done once and for all.

How Twitter treats ‘deactivation’

It's not possible to uninstall your account completely on Twitter. When you deactivating your account, it will feel like the account is gone for good. If you want to reverse course, you can retrieve the account.

That isn't the case forever. 30 days after you hit the deactivating button, your account will be erased. You should not treat this option like you are putting your account on the back burner, because 30 days will come and go fast.

How to deactivate your Twitter account on desktop and mobile

In the left-side menu, click " More" and choose "Settings and privacy".

If you want to download your account's data, you should move your email address to a new account. Instructions for both procedures can be found on that page.

Deactivate if you're set on deactivating. If you want to deactivating your account, you need to enter your password, and then choose "Twitter Deletion Day" in your calendar.
