New Marriott Amex Offers: $50 off $250 and $100 off of $500. (enrollment required)

There are two new Amex offers for Marriott Bonvoy. A $50 statement credit is given for a spend of $250+ on most Bonvoy properties. The second offers a $100 statement credit off of $500+ spend on most of the properties that the first offer excludes, while leaving out the mainline properties included in the first offer.

The $100/$500 offer is only valid in the US, the Caribbean, Canada and Mexico.

Bonvoy is very difficult.

Quick Thoughts

Make sure that you use the card that corresponds to the brand you are booking at, because these interlacing offers can be difficult.

This offer is only valid at properties in the US and US territories, along with Canada, Mexico and the Caribbean. It also excludes Marriott homes and villas. The exclusion of the Protea is redundant since they are outside the US.

I find the $100/$500 offer a bit disingenuous in that they specifically name it as being usable towards international luxury brands, but then exclude most international properties in the t&c. I've already seen some confusion surrounding it, but the exclusions are common for Amex.

The Marriott Amex offers have been triggered by gift card purchases at the front desk in the past. Whether or not properties sell gift cards at all has always been a question of whether or not they know how to load them or not. It is worth calling to see if a location has them before you go to the hotel. If you can find one, you can use the GC to pay for the hotels if you buy it.
