I would make it illegal to say "Urban Meyer" and "NFL" if I became President.
Meyer's first season in the National Football League was terrible, not to the people of Jacksonville, but to every other fan of the game, it was a nightmare of twists and turns. When you think the Meyer sage can't get any worse, WHAM! He kicks his kicker. KA-POW! He doesn't know who Donald is. The idiocy continues. You would think that the reports detailing Meyer's lack of empathy for his subordinates, subpar NFL knowledge, and disgusting behavior off the football field would make it hard for him to get a football job. Do you think that would happen to you?
How dare we assume that someone with a bad track record would not be able to get his old job back in two years? What were we thinking? He can pretend like nothing happened. Why wouldn't he be able to do that? I look stupid right now. Meyer had a lot of issues pertaining to his reputation while with Fox before he joined the Jaguars. He didn't report his former assistant after he was accused of abuse. Meyer tried to cover up his knowledge of the allegations. The man is a three-time national championship-winning coach. He should be on TV again.
Meyer seemed confident that a deal would be reached before the start of the college football season during an interview on The Tim May Show. It wouldn't surprise me if Meyer came back to the same role he had last year, despite the fact that Bob Stoops did a great job in the role.
I hope Meyer gets his old role back if he finds his way back on TV. Why? Meyer's time is usually spent in a studio talking with his peers, but there are a few times when his time is moved outside to prepare for a big game. Can you imagine how many people are going to be behind Meyer with signs? Thousands of college football fans have more creative minds than I do. I wouldn't be surprised if Meyer started screaming back at some of the fans that are going to put up a troll job next season. It wouldn't be a good look and hopefully that would be enough to get him kicked off TV and away from football for a long time.
