  • My family ate dinner at the Coral Reef Restaurant in Disney World.

  • The menu is small but has enough to please most palates, and it is fun to sit next to the aquarium.

  • Our meal is fairly inexpensive by Disney standards.

The Coral Reef Restaurant is located in the corner of the Future World.

The Coral Reef Restaurant is located in the same building as The Seas With Nemo and Friends ride.

It is easy to miss if you are not looking for it.

I think it isunderappreciated because park visitors don't know it exists.

It is easy to get a table.

During the weeks leading up to our vacation, we saw open reservations on the My Disney Experience app. When we searched the app from inside the parks, we saw it as a walk-up option.

Coral Reef is not new or trendy, but when the Future World section is renovated, it might attract more foot traffic.

We ate on a Tuesday night during spring break. The park was crowded, but the tables at Coral Reef were half full.

A table next to the aquarium is recommended by me.

The hallway is filled with colorful tiles and light fixture that make guests feel like they are walking into the ocean.

The dining room faces one of the aquariums from The Seas With Nemo and Friends, giving it an under-the-sea vibe. If we sat closer to the aquarium, we could see sharks and fish swimming from our upper-level table.

If you want to get as much out of the unique atmosphere as possible, you will want to request a table beside the aquarium.

There is a small but varied menu at the restaurant.

There are six selections on the menu.

The rolls and butter the server brought us were good, but not great.

The table next to us had a shrimp cocktail. I am not sure if it would be worth it for the price, since there were only four pieces of shrimp.

My husband had the prime rib with mashed potatoes, my oldest had shrimp and grits, and my youngest had the salmon with risotto.

We shared a dessert at the end of our meals.

The shrimp and grits I ordered were topped with sausage. There was enough shrimp to justify the price.

The prime rib was tender. I thought it tasted like a rib eye, but my husband loved the loaded mash.

The salmon was served on a bed of risotto with tender microgreens. It had enough flavor to save it from being bland, but it was still simple enough to please someone without adventurous taste buds.

My kids ordered a soft drink and my husband and I each had a beer.

The four of us decided to split the dessert between us. It had a good balance of sweet and tart.

The food was good and the service was great.

We're Disney Vacation Club members so we got a 10% discount on our food.

Everyone was friendly and welcoming when we arrived at our table.

We arrived late for our reservation because of a long queue at the Ratatouille Adventure. When our server got our food out quickly, he knew we were hungry.

If you are a picky eater, there is no macaroni and cheese or chicken nuggets here. Kid's choices include grilled fish, steak, chicken, or shrimp.
