Three separate lawsuits were filed this week claiming excessive violence by Dodger Stadium security personnel toward the team's fans during the team's 2021 season, listing assault, battery, false imprisonment, violation of civil rights and emotional distress among the accusations.
The suits were filed in Los Angeles Superior Court by the same law firm that sought $17 million in damages for allegations of racial profiling and excessive force in October.
The Los Angeles Dodgers have a policy of not commenting on pending litigation.
Peter diDonato, an attorney based in L.A., said in a news release that the fan was attacked by security officials at the stadium after the game because they insisted that he get out of his vehicle. A woman was attacked by security at Dodger Stadium after they accused her family of conducting illegal activities through their cellphones. Six security officers grabbed a man by the hair and surrounded him when he refused to leave the stadium because of inappropriate language, causing injuries to his head, neck and back.
The Dodgers, who play their home opener Thursday, have been informed of the suits but have chosen not to respond, according to diDonato's firm, which provided photos of the victims' injuries and a video of the third incident.
The Dodgers fans want the heavy-handed security policies at Dodger Stadium to be changed immediately.
