The UK government has imposed sanctions on two Russian businessmen.
Eugene Tenenbaum and David Davidovich are long-time business associates of Mr Abramovich.
The assets of the pair have been frozen.
It was the largest asset freeze in UK history.
They are on a list of people who have been hit with sanctions because of Russia's invasion of Ukraine.
They will not be able to send their financial assets back to Russia.
There have been 106 individuals sanctioned by the UK since February.
Mr Tenenbaum described himself as one of the closest business associates of Mr Abramovich.
He took control of an investment company linked to Mr Abramovich on February 24.
The company was taken over by Mr Davidovich in March. He can't enter or remain in the UK because of a travel ban.
The circle of people closest to the Kremlin will be targeted by the tightening of the ratchet on Putin's war machine.

The sanctions were co-ordinated with the action taken by the authorities in Jersey.
A Jersey court froze $7 billion worth of assets linked to Mr. Abramovich on Tuesday.
The US Commerce Department said that a plane owned by Mr. Abramovich was one of many that had violated US sanctions.
It is a criminal offense to fly a Russian aircraft to the UK. Even if a person is not on the plane, the government can remove the aircraft from the register.
Russian ships have been banned from UK ports.
