The dislike button is intended to let users flag inappropriate comments and make the community a bit nicer.
The new dislike button is a thumbs down icon to the right of the heart icon that is already available next to comments. The dislike feature isn't currently available to all users, so don't be surprised if you don't have it yet Over the next few months, TikTok plans to roll it out.
TikTok wrote that they are testing a way to let individuals identify comments they believe to be irrelevant or inappropriate.
Users can indicate their disdain for a TikTok by long pressing it and choosing not to be interested from the popup menu. TikTok allows users to report comments by long-pressing on them.
This dislike feature is the first time that users will be able to leave negative feedback for comments that are not helpful or appreciated.
The number of dislikes a comment receives will be hidden. TikTok states that the measure is designed to avoid creating ill-feeling between community members or demoralizing creators.
The new feature is currently being tested by TikTok.
