Heartstopper, an LGBT love story that tackles romance in an unexpected way, will be the first show on the streaming service that tackles teenage coming-of-age shows on their head. In the first trailer for the series, viewers meet Charlie Spring, a very geeky and gay teenager who hasn't found anyone to return his romantic love. When Charlie and Nick meet, sparks fly. Nick is almost everything Charlie isn't.
Charlie asked one of his friends how he could stop feeling so strongly about Nick because of the gulf between his desires. Nick seems to have feelings for Charlie as well. He invites Charlie to join him on the rugby team even though he looks like a bad mix. If Nick asked for more time with Charlie, it was ambiguous at the moment.
The series also features William Cormac Gao as Tao Xu, with other co-stars including Corinna Brown as Tara Jones, Kizzy Edgell as Darcy Olsson, Sebastian Croft as Ben Hope, and Rhea Norwood as Tobie.
Alice Oseman, who also wrote and developed the series, created a web comic and graphic novel. Euros Lyn is in charge of the show. The first season of the show will premiere on April 22.
