Mint Mobile sells its plans in multi-month bundles so you can save money. You can buy three, six, or 12 months at a time, and plans come in a variety of capacities. If you decide to try out Mint Mobile, it's easy to change carriers. Many of us have had our numbers for a long time so we don't need to give them up if we want to save money with a new carrier.

It is important to note that your phone number must remain active on your previous carrier throughout the process. If you cancel your old service before moving to Mint, you won't be able to recover your phone number, at least not without going through a much more tedious process.

You will need a compatible phone and a Mint Mobile card to get started. Mint Mobile will work with any of the best phones on the market thanks to the T-Mobile network.

If you have a newer phone, you can also use an eSIM. You will receive activation information after you complete your purchase if you select eSIM as your delivery option.

You can use the Mint Mobile app to get your service activated.

2. Enter your code. Above the active date, you can find an 11-digit ACT code on the back of your sim card.

That is it! You can keep track of your plan with a Mint Mobile account, but the process of changing your number should be left to you. It could take up to 48 hours for the transfer to be made, just be patient. It could take more than one transfer from a landline service.

Most of the time, you will get your number in a few minutes. You can use data to talk to people in alternative messaging apps.

If you have a question, you can always call Mint Mobile's customer service at 800-683-7392 or chat with an agent online. Once the number transfer is complete, you will receive a welcome text from Mint, which will confirm your Mint Mobile port number, and in most cases, your existing service will be canceled. All you have left is to enjoy your new service.
