A source told Jeremy Fowler that they were signing Steven Nelson to a two-year, $10 million deal.
Nelson signed a $3 million contract with the Philadelphia Eagles and appeared in 16 regular-season games. He had 7 passes defended and 50 tackles.
When throwing in his direction, quarterbacks who played mostly in a zone system completed 70% of their passes, for a QB rating of 108.4, according to Pro Football Reference.
Nelson spent the previous two seasons with the PittsburghSteelers, recording three intercepts over 30 games.
Nelson was a third-round pick by the Kansas City Chiefs in 2015. He's had eight career intercepts and 59 passes defended.
