Daniels is transferring from the University of Georgia to West Virginia.

According to Pete Thamel, Daniels said he informed West Virginia's head coach Neal Brown of his decision Wednesday morning and that he felt like they had good pieces everywhere. It feels like a good fit for the quarterback. I feel like there is a really, really, really good team that I will step into and do my part to contribute to.

While he was given the opportunity to start at USC, Daniels ended up in a backup role behind Bennett in 2020 and 2021.

Daniels wasn't able to lock down a starting job for an extended period of time because of injuries.

He tore his knee in the season opener and missed the rest of the year. Daniels moved to Georgia because USC decided to have Kedon Slovis as its starter in 2020.

Daniels was not healed in time for the start of the 2020 campaign, and he only started four games that season. He completed 67.2 percent of his passes for 1,231 yards, 10 touchdown and two interceptions, and he showed great promise.

He was the starter at Georgia for three games, but was injured and never regained the job from Bennett, who led the team to a national championship.

Daniels won all three of his starts last season, bringing his record as Georgia's starter to a perfect seven. He completed 72.3 percent of his attempts for 722 yards, seven touchdown and three picks.

There is still hope that Daniels can establish himself as a top collegiate quarterback despite the injuries and inconsistency of his career.

Daniels told Thamel that the presence of Graham Harrell had something to do with him choosing West Virginia over Missouri and Oregon State.

It helped knowing Graham was coming into it and having a good relationship with him. I believe in the system and the offense. I feel very comfortable with the way that Brown runs the program and the ideas that he has.

When Daniels was at USC, he was the OC and he will be looked upon to run the Air Raid offense effectively in Morgantown, West Virginia.

West Virginia has reached a bowl game in seven of the last eight seasons, but hasn't won more than eight games in a season since 2016

The West Virginia offense scored 25.2 points per game last season, and that was with Jarret Doege under center.

Doege left a huge hole at the quarterback position, but Daniels could potentially be a significant upgrade if he is able to stay healthy.
