There were reports last year that the company was working on an app that would let users switch to a phone running the company's OS. The app has arrived. The app will allow users to import their contacts, calendar, photos, and videos to their mobile device.
The app tells users how to turn off Apple's iMessage in order to get text messages on their new device, as well as how to migrate their photo and video library to the new device.

The company hasn't officially announced the launch of the new app, but the website for it hasn't been updated yet. The app is not on the App Store or in the App Store search results. Clicking the direct link will lead to it.
The standard process for moving to Android requires users to back up their contacts, calendar, photos, and videos via the Google Drive iOS app before changing devices.
The company's plan to develop a stand-alone app for switchers was first uncovered last year when 9to5Google dug into the code within the official Data Restore Tool. The app appeared to have gained the ability to automatically migrate users' photos and videos from the cloud to the cloud based on mentions in another app's code.
There have been hints that the internet giant is working to make it easier for users to shift their media content to its own platform and services. A way for mobile device owners to copy over photos from rival cloud storage services, including iCloud, Facebook and others was recently announced by Google. Previously, transfers had to originate from Facebook or iCloud, not from the app itself.
One thing that doesn't help with the migration of applications is the new switch toandroid app. The user's device may have limitations as to what third-party apps can access. It's not supposed to be possible to get a list of all the other apps a user has installed by scanning the user's phone.
The new app promotes its ability to handle moving users without the use of fussy cables, meaning the two phones don't have to be physically linked together.
Apple's app that helped switch users to iPhone was many years ago. In September 2015, Apple launched its Move to iOS app forANDROID users, which was its first app on GOOGLE PLAY. The app helped to migrate users' data including their Camera Roll, Messages, Contacts, and bookmarks.
