Gadgets with an attachment to Porsche Design tend to have a bad track record, but its latest collaboration is tough to knock. The high-end Agon ProPD32M gaming monitor is available for pre-order now and shipping in June for $1,799. The stand is made of aluminum and resembles the style of steering wheels.
I am not sold on this homage after looking up what the steering wheels look like. It makes for a more elegant looking gaming monitor, at least from the front. Its back is covered in panels that light up. It is a feature that I wish every monitor had. I always look for a place to put my headphones.
The $1,799 price for this monitor seems reasonable for the features it has. The display has a 4K aspect ratio with a 144Hz refresh rate, 1ms response time, and DisplayHDR 1400 support, as well as 97 percent coverage of the DCI-P3 color space. The spec sheet states that it supports adaptivesync, but it isn't clear if that is the case.
The rear of the device has at least one of the two HDMI ports that support up to 120Hz at 4K resolution, as well as one of the four Type-A ports and a headphone jack. Two 8W speakers and a wireless controller are included in the price.
It doesn't seem like the worst price for a 4K MiniLED monitor with HDMI 2.1 support for PC, Xbox Series X, and PS5 is $1,799. Sometimes monitors that seem exciting don't turn out that way. One example is the Apple 5K studio display. The Odyssey Neo G9 with Mini LED seemed incredible and turned out to be less than stellar in our review, so maybe wait for the reviews to come out before ordering this one.
