New LATAM Lounge Santiago Is Largest In South America

LATAM, the largest airline in South America, has just opened the biggest lounge on the planet.

The doors to the LATAM Lounge have just been opened. The largest airport lounge in all of South America is 4,000 square meters. The LATAM Lounge is located in the new Terminal 2 and is only available to international passengers.

The airline focuses on sustainable practices in promoting the lounge.

• It’s claimed that the lounge is operated by 80% renewable energy
• The lounge has “interactive games with educational themes surrounding recycling and conservation”
• “Waste reduction is encouraged through recycling and reuse”
• The new lounge will offset its carbon footprint through ecosystem conservation projects in South America
• The new lounge has a series of art sculptures by emerging South American artists, made mostly with recycled materials

lockers for hand luggage, sleeping areas, special areas for families, showers, an open bar, buffet service with Latin American cuisine, ironing service, shoe shine service, and workstations are all included in the LATAM Lounge.

This seems like a really big lounge

Nowadays airport lounges are more crowded than they used to be, because there are so many people in them. Even if a lounge operator wants more space, it can be hard to lease it because airport real estate can be hard to come by.

When a new lounge opens, I think to myself, "well this is going to be crowded from the get-go." For the first time, I feel like this is a sufficiently large lounge, and might not."

LATAM elite members, as well as those traveling in LATAM business class, are welcome at the LATAM Lounge Santiago. Premium Delta passengers also have access to the lounge, which may be contracted out to other airlines.

I can't imagine that this lounge will ever get crowded, especially since LATAM has reduced some of its long haul capacity, by retiring the A350s.

Bottom line

The largest lounge in all of South America is the LATAM Lounge Santiago. I'm curious to check out this lounge at some point because the limited pictures look great.
