Entry rules will be removed for all travellers to Greece next month in a boost for the summer.

As the country prepares for the peak season when a record number of tourists are expected to visit, Covid-related restrictions have been loosened.

The health minister said that restrictions will be lifted.

Travelers from EU and non-EU countries include the UK.

Travelers will no longer be required to show proof of a full course of vaccinations or a negative Covid test in order to enter Greece from May 2.

The use of facemasks will no longer be required from June 1 and people won't need a Covid pass to enter venues.

The minister said that the restrictions onOccupancy rates at places like restaurants, shops and sports venues are being relaxed until August 31, when all the measures will be reviewed.

The Foreign Office has yet to change its travel advice for Greece.

The country doesn't require vaccinations for visitors before they enter from March 15.

The capacity of Jet2.com and Jet2holidays will increase by more than one million seats due to the addition of 500,000 seats in Greece.

The number of Covid-19 infections in Greece has fallen recently, with authorities recording 15,000 infections and 64 deaths on Tuesday.

The population of 11 million is fully vaccine free.
