GOP pollster Frank Luntz said that Republican lawmakers are laughing at Donald Trump and think he is a child.

Luntz referred to a joke that Sununu made at the Gridiron Club dinner. Sununu hit out at Trump at the event, calling him crazy.

The press often asks if I think Donald Trump is crazy. I don't think he is crazy enough to be put in a mental institution. Sununu said that if he were in one, he wouldn't get out.

Luntz said that he didn't know a single Republican who was surprised by what Sununu said. He said what they were thinking.

Luntz said that the Republican lawmakers were happy to mock Trump in private but wouldn't do it in public.

They won't say it in public, but behind his back they think he's a child. They are laughing at him. Luntz said that Sununu's comments were significant.

Luntz said that Trump isn't the same man he was a year ago. Everyone in Washington believes he lost the election.

Luntz is not the only one who thinks that Trump's hold on the GOP may be waning. GOP campaign strategist Susan Del Percio thinks that the former president's rallies are getting smaller.

Donald Trump? The crowds are getting smaller and people aren't buying into it because Republicans want to move on. The people of this country don't want to hear about the big lie anymore, according to Del Percio.

Trump has been eager to shore up support among his most ardent supporters while continuing to promote baseless claims that the election was stolen from him. He withdrew his endorsement of MoBrooks in Alabama's senate race after he encouraged Republicans to move on from the results of the 2020 vote.
