You knew Gilbert Gottfried's voice even if you didn't know who he was. The raspy, screechy voice of the legendary comedian and actor was one of the most unique voices of all time. His voice was silenced this week as he passed away at the age of 67. We'd love for you to tell us your favorite work from the body of work that Gottfried leaves.
Iago in Disney's 1992 film, Aladdin, is the best known of the voice performances. The right-hand parrot of Jafar was mean and cunning, but also funny and memorable. It wasn't his first voice work, but it was his biggest at the time and really kicked off a whole new phase of his career.
He voiced Kraang Sub-Prime in the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles series, as well as Mr. Mxyzptlk in Superman: The Animated Series.
It always came back to Iago, who voiced the character in the first movie, but also in video games, TV specials, and more. It was funny to fans of his comedy. Iago and all those characters shared the same voice, but they didn't share the same humor. Gilbert Gottfried was a comedian and actor who everyone knew in one way or another. Most entertainers dream of leaving behind a legacy.
