Robson: Chelsea had too much to overcome from their first leg vs. Real Madrid (1:00)

The game was a perfect one from a tactical point of view, but too big of a deficit to overcome. (1:00)

Carlo Ancelotti questioned whether officials have the courage to make key calls against the LaL after Real Madrid were knocked out of the playoffs.

Despite winning the second leg at the Santiago Bernabeu, they lost on aggregate and were eliminated from the competition.

The guide is for viewers of LaLiga, MLS, FA Cup, and more.

After trailing by three goals in the first leg, they were able to force extra time as goals from Mason Mount, Antonio Rudiger and Timo Werner put them up, before substitute Rodrygo kept the tie going.

When asked what upset him, the 48 year old said he was disappointed at the referee.

He had a good time with my colleague Carlo Ancelotti, who is a gentleman and a nice guy, but when I wanted to say thank you for the match, I saw him laughing, smiling, and laughing loud with the opponent. I don't think it's a good idea to do this after the final whistle because one team is fighting to stay up.

I told him that it was very bad timing to go as a coach and see the referee laughing and smiling with the other coach. That was it.

Marcos Alonso's second-half goal was denied by the VAR review, a decision that was not reviewed by the referee.

Tuchel said that if you play against Real Madrid, you can't expect everyone to have the courage.

In the first leg and the second leg, I felt little decisions against us. I told him I was disappointed that he did not check out the goal on his own.

In a match like this where you have a certain line to whistle, you should stay the boss and not give decisions like this to someone in a chair who is isolated from the atmosphere. The referee has a certain style, things he allows and doesn't allow, he follows a certain line, so I think he should stay in charge and check it on his own, then he could also explain it better.

This is just my opinion. We deserved more, but we didn't have enough time to play in the second half of the extra time. It might be too much to ask for in a match like this. We had it in our hands, but we were not lucky enough.
