The ancestors of Archie, Tabitha, Fangs, and Toni, holding her baby, stand with downcast eyes in front of a mahogany desk.

Don't say that Riverdale has gone off the rails. Don't dare. Give the show, starring increasingly and sinisterly absurd versions of the Archie comics characters, the respect it deserves.

In season one, it was revealed that Betty was into S&M, but in season three, it was revealed that one of the cults might have had access. The show is in its sixth season, and the rails can no longer be seen, so an upcoming time-travel episode is simply par for the course.

In season six, Veronica's dad tried to kill Archie by placing a bomb under his bed. The TV series was sent to an alternate universe called Rivervale, where Archie was sacrificed by the entire town, including Betty, Veronica, and Jughead. When the reality returned, Archie, Betty, and Jughead were given powers that were good because a man named Percival Pickens was in town with a sinister plan and mind control powers. At some point, Cheryl Blossom was possessed by an evil witch. In the first nine episodes of the season, this has happened.

Pop's diner owner Tabitha should be sent back in time in an attempt to discover more about the plan. The show's main stars all play younger versions of their parents in a few of the flashback episodes. It still looks like it will be the case, but Tabitha might be going back further than the 80s. There are more of them here.

You will have to wait until the episode after next airs to see Tabitha's journey through time.
