The all-electric sedan from Lucid has a new high- performance version. The online configurator of the company can be used to select the new Grand Touring Performance variant, which has 1,050 HP.
The most powerful of the Air vehicles is the Dream Edition, which is sold out after this new model. The Dream Edition model was the only production electric vehicle to achieve a quarter-mile time under 10 seconds, which was better than the Model S.
This performance model can’t quite beat the Tesla Model S Plaid
The new trim isn't a performance loss from the Dream Edition. The discontinued model is slightly quicker at 2.5 seconds, but you still get 60 mph acceleration in 2.6 seconds. The standard Grand Touring has a 3-second time of 60 mph. The performance model can travel about 100 miles further on a single charge than the Model S Plaid, which has a range of 446 miles.
The range is less than the standard Grand Touring model, but it has unique 21-inch Aero Sport wheels and summer performance tires from the factory. The performance model will set you back $179,000, a $40,000 premium over the standard Grand Touring model, making it the most expensive offering.
Due to supply chain challenges, Lucid had to cut up to 8,000 vehicles from its production forecast. The Newark, California-based company only delivered about 300 vehicles on over 25,000 reservations.
The new Air Grand Touring Performance answers to the strong demand we continue to see for higher- performance versions of the Lucid Air, according to Peter Rawlinson.
