Behold the terrifying otherworldly face of Vecna, the big bad of the Upside Down.

The Duffer Brothers have revealed that the first volume of the fourth season of Stranger Things will feature Vecna, an ancient god-like lich who hails from D&D. We got a glimpse of him at the beginning and end of the trailer.

The Duffer Brothers likened their take on Vecna to horror giants like Hellraiser and Pinhead. What you are seeing here is mostly practical. Throughout the season, Vecna is 90 percent practical. In season three, our actors were reacting to a beach ball, whereas in season three, we wanted a presence on the set. We wanted something that we could actually film, and I think that makes this villain more real and tangible, and we're really excited for people to see him this season.

Venca is described in Critical Role as a calculating and ruthless man who was able to manipulate people's greatest fears to his own. He wanted to play with the toys left by other gods beyond the Divine Gate and make his Exandria better. The Duffers pointed out to IGN that the look of Vecna is similar to Game of Throne.

It makes sense that the biggest bad in the Upside Down would be cut from cloth, and we have a feeling that a new season four character is Eddie, the head of the high school. We think he is working with Vecna to bring him to life. We don't have long to wait for the first volume of the fourth season of Stranger Things.
