Tom Clements is still delivering his delivery. When asked what brought him back to Green Bay, the once-retired quarterbacks coach gave a one-word answer.

The answer was two words: Rodgers.

When the Packers lost their quarterbacks coach, Rodgers tried to get his old coach out of retirement and eventually connected him with LaFleur.

After the season, he contacted me to gauge my interest in coming back.

I would talk about it and talk to Matt a few times. We got together, talked, talked a little bit more, and it worked out.

Rodgers didn't make public his decision on whether he would return to the Packers for the 2022 season. That came three weeks later.

I asked him what he was thinking and I was confident that he would come back. The team and he have had some great years and have a good chance to contend for the Super Bowl.

He knows why Rodgers came back.

I know that he wants another Super Bowl, and that was one of the things that intrigued me.

The last time he was a coach in the NFL was in 2020 for the Arizona Cardinals. He didn't have any plans to come back.

I came back because of the chance to win a Super Bowl. Those were the main considerations.

The charge will be to help Rodgers adjust to life without his favorite receiver, Davante Adams. Rodgers has played the way he has since LaFleur took over.

I thought he was playing a style similar to when he was younger because he was playing more under center. In the early years, we relied on the running game and the play-action pass and got in the shotgun more on third-down situations. When you can run the ball, it opens up a lot of things, and there has been a lot of explosive passes over the years off the play-action pass game, and hopefully we can continue to do that.

Nine members of the coaching staff who were either hired or promoted to new positions spoke with reporters Tuesday. The group also included Rich Bisaccia, who was the interim head coach of the Raiders last season.

He had his reasons for taking over one of the worst special teams units in the NFL, even though he didn't want to answer questions about whether he should have gotten the full-time job in Las Vegas.

The Green Bay Packers are one of the marquee teams in the National Football League. He's all football, and to be back with Joe Barry, who I've been with before at two different places, and again to be part of a franchise that expects to win and the standard is winning it all.
