The month-long extension of the federal transportation mask mandate is set to end on April 18.
Extending the mandate is a possibility, according to the Biden Administration's new COVID-19 Response Coordinator.

According to the Washington D.C.-based NBC show, Jha said that it was a CDC decision and that it was on the table.
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention decided last month to add another month to the divisive decision to extend the mandate.
This new decision by CDC Director Rochelle Walensky could come as early as this week, as the ruling came eight days before the March 18 expiration. The extra month was unnecessary as COVID numbers had started dropping at the point where many cities and communities had stopped wearing masks.
This time, Walensky could factor in the rise of the new strain of the virus.
I don't think this is a time where we need to be overly concerned.
