Sepp Blatter andMichel Platini will be tried in Switzerland in June on corruption charges.
Swiss prosecutors say that a transfer of 2m Swiss Francs to Platini was arranged without their knowledge.
Both of them have denied any wrongdoing.
They could be sentenced to prison if found guilty.
The case was opened in September of 2015 after accusations of widespread corruption were made against the world governing body of football.
Both men were banned from the game and forced to leave their positions after the ethics committee launched an investigation.
The Swiss case involves a request for payment for work done for the then-fiddled president of France.
The prosecutors said that the 66-year-old demanded the payment over eight years after the end of his advisory activity.
Prosecutors previously said that at the beginning of 2011, Fifa made a payment to Platini.
The two men are charged with fraud, embezzlement, unfaithful business management, and forgery of documents.
The trial will start in June.
