Law enforcement sources said five people were shot at a subway station in Brooklyn.

Multiple people were shot and undetonated devices were found by fire personnel responding to reports of smoke at the 36th Street station in the Sunset Park neighborhood. 13 people were injured, but there was no information on what those injuries were.

According to multiple law enforcement sources briefed on the investigation, a suspect wearing a construction vest and a gas mask fled.

People are tending to passengers who are bleeding on the floor of the station.

Further details were not immediately available.

During the morning rush hour, trains servicing that station were delayed.

The office of New York City Mayor Eric Adams did not have more information. Adams was at the mayor's residence Tuesday morning and was being briefed.
