Beyond Meat's meatless chicken tenders

The meatless chicken tenders will be available in 8,000 new grocery, pharmacy and big-box retail locations.

Customers will now be able to buy Beyond Chicken Tenders at select stores. The item will be available at all Kroger locations by the end of the month.

Beyond Chief Growth Officer Deanna Jurgens said in an interview that they want their product to be available wherever their customers want to carry it.

The company's retail sales have been weak. During the early days of the Pandemic, consumer demand for its beef and sausage alternatives soared as restaurant sales plummeted, but those shopping habits have since tailed off.

The company focused on partnerships with fast-food chains in the future. In the fourth quarter, Beyond's US grocery sales fell 20%.

The investors were disappointed by the slump in sales growth. The market value of the stock has fallen over the last year. The shares rose in premarket trading.

The chicken tenders product was first launched in restaurants in July. In February, the CEO told analysts that the launches were more expensive because of supply chain problems, but costs have improved as the company ramps up production.

As we go into this year, distribution continues to be a key driver for us.
