In Monday's win over the New York Mets, third baseman Alec Bohm had a rough game, committing three errors in the first three frames.

After two throwing errors in the first two frames, Bohm made a routine play on a ground ball by Starling Marte to record the second out of the second frame, which was cheered and applauded by the Philadelphia fans.

After the play and jeers from the fans, Bohm was caught by a camera saying "I hate this place" in reference to Philadelphia.

After the game, he apologized to the fans and confirmed what he had said.

Emotions got the best of me. I said it. Do I mean it? It is a frustrating night for me. These people want to win. I don't mean that.

Does Alec Bohm actually "hate this place?" Doesn't sound like it.

"Look, emotions got the best of me. I said it. Do I mean it? No. It's a frustrating night for me, obviously. ... These people, these fans, they just want to win. ... I don't mean that." pic.twitter.com/Q7VZ2aBoAg

The Mets led after the first and seventh, but thePhillies came back with five runs in the eighth thanks to Kyle Schwarber's groundout, J.T. Realmuto's two-run home run and a pair of doubles. Bohm started the rally with a walk and ended it with two bases on balls.

The third pick in the MLB draft made his debut in the 2020 season, after the coronaviruses outbreak. He finished second in the National League rookies of the year voting after hitting.338/.400/.481 with four home runs and 23 runs scored in 44 games.

In 115 games in the year 2021, Bohm slashed.243/.302/.343 with seven home runs.

He made his first appearance of the season on Saturday, going 2-for-2 with a double and a walk in the win over Oakland.

The National League East has the best record. Considering it is the beginning of the season, it would be a great sign for a team looking to make the playoffs for the first time since 2011.
