  • Scottie Scheffler has won four of the past six events he has played in, including taking his first major at the Masters on Sunday.

  • Ted Scott came out of retirement to carry his bag just before his hot streak began.

  • Scott has made close to $1 million over the past few months, so he needs to be happy with his decision.

Since Tiger Woods was in his prime, the golf world has seen one of the hottest streaks.

After winning the Dell Match Play, he ascended to the top spot in the world. He secured the first major of his career with a win at the Masters on Sunday.

Despite a number of top 10 finishes, the talented young player had yet to win a PGA Tour victory. After scoring his first win at the Phoenix Open in February, Scheffler has been on a hot streak.

Ted Scott has been by his side for the entire hot streak. Scott had been associated with the man for 15 years. Scott was prepared to retire from caddying in favor of coaching and instruction until he got the call from Scheffler, after he amicably split from Watson.

Scott said that he did not make the decision to return to the Tour alone.

Scott said after the Masters that he had his kids pray about it. We will pray about it for another week. We think you should do it.

That was the deciding factor. I did not choose it.

The two men made their debut together at the RSM Classic. Scott has cashed some of the biggest checks of his career now that he is the top-ranked golfer in the world.

Michael Collins, a former caddie for the PGA Tour, said on his show that caddies have their own deals with their golfers. There are some general rules that apply.

Collins said in an animated video for his show that every caddie gets a weekly paycheck even if the player misses the cut.

If the guy makes the cut, the standard is 10% for a win, 7% for a top 10 and 5% for everything else.

It is possible that Scott has made more than $900,000 in the past six months since he took over the bag, with Scheffler winning nearly $8.5 million.

Scott is doing well even if the formula that Collins put forward is different than the one that Scheffler and Scott have agreed to.

On Sunday, Scott and Scheffler won the Masters.

Scott has made more money without me, and I don't think he does either.

In 2012 and 2014, Scott and Watson won the Masters together, with Scott taking home more than $1 million.

The top prize has grown more and more since then, with the most recent one coming on Sunday at $2.7 million.

After the win, he expressed his admiration for his new caddie.

I can not speak highly enough of Ted as a person and as a caddie. He is a fun guy to be around. I love him because he is a man of faith. I can not say enough about him. Ted embodies most of the qualities you look for in a person. He is humble. He works hard. He is honest. He is a good person to be around.

Scott's retirement will have to wait for a while longer, as he is set to return to Augusta National in 2023 as the reigning champion.

Scott said he would have to keep working.
