The Spanish Civil Guard seized the largest taxidermy collection of protected animals in the nation’s history.

Over 400 protected species of stuffed animals were seized by police in Spain. The collection of animals were displayed in two large warehouses in Spain. This is one of the largest discoveries of stuffed animals in Europe and the largest of protected stuffed animals in Spain.

The owner of the collection is being investigated for violating the protection of animals.

The police were tipped off about a possible collection of stuffed animals in Bétera, a small town north of the eastern coastal city of Valencia. They were able to locate the industrial warehouses, which were 50,000 square meters across, and found a total of 1,090 stuffed animals. The CITES convention on wildlife trade is an international treaty that aims to protect plants and animals.

The North African oryx, which was declared extinct in the year 2000, was included in the collection. Reports show that the private museum had large ivory elephant tusks, as well as lions, snow leopards, and alligators. Police estimate that the collection is worth over 30 million euros.
