Two Thumbs Up is a new button that will help the streaming service better recommend you.

The existing Thumbs Up and Thumbs Down controls will be updated with the new feature. Two Thumbs Up will allow users to indicate that they really liked something, and the company says that it has been a highly requested feature within the experience.

Christine Doig-Cardet, director of product innovation and personalization experiences, tells The Verge that members have never had as many great entertainment options as they have right now. We want to make it easy for people to choose what to watch.

The Thumbs Up and Thumbs Down system replaced the five-star rating system. Doig-Cardet says the new button will help subscribers better navigate the library of shows and movies by offering them a more nuanced way of liking titles.

One of the most user-focused experiences in the streaming space is provided by Netflix, and it is constantly testing new features and tools to help users find stuff to watch. The company introduced a Top 10 row in 2020, launched a Play Something feature in 2021, and rolled out the ability to edit the Continue Watching row on all devices earlier this year. Users can expect to see more customization tools and features in the future.

Christine Doig-Cardet says they hope to end choice fatigue with new features this year.

The new Two Thumbs Up button can be found next to the Thumbs Up and Thumbs Down buttons on the interface.
