Liz Cheney of Wyoming said the January 6 committee has not decided if it will refer former President Donald Trump for criminal charges.
Cheney spoke to Jake Tapper on Sunday about the attack on the Capitol. The committee was asked if there was enough evidence to charge Trump with a crime.
We have not made a decision about referrals on the committee, Cheney said. They did it.
Cheney cited a ruling by a federal judge last month that found Trump likely violated federal law by trying to overturn the results of the 2020 election.

I think what we have seen is a massive and well organized effort that used multiple tools to try and overturn an election, according to Cheney.
The office of Trump did not respond to the request for comment. Trump denied any responsibility for inciting the Capitol riot. He has been making up stories about the election being stolen.
The New York Times reported on Sunday that the January 6 committee had enough evidence for a criminal referral, but members were split on whether or not to send it.
The committee members were worried that a criminal referral would affect the investigation into the insurrection.
