The 150th Open Championship will be held at St Andrew's in July.

Woods spoke of his intentions after completing 72 holes at the Masters in his first competitive appearance since a life-threatening car crash last year.

The 46-year-old American won two of his three Opens at the historic Scottish links, which he described as his favourite golf course in the world.

I am looking forward to St Andrew. He told Sky Sports that he would be there.

That is something that is close to my heart. It is the home of golf and I have won two Opens there.

Woods had serious injuries when he crashed his car while speeding in Los Angeles.

His right leg might have to be amputated after the single vehicle incident.

Three weeks ago, he was unsure if he would be fit enough to walk the hilly terrain at the Masters.

Woods shot a one-under par 71 on Thursday after announcing on Tuesday that he would play.

He made the weekend cut after a round of 74 on Friday, but he finished 13 over par after two 78s.

The US PGA Championship at Southern Hills, from 19-22 May, is still undecided for Woods.

Woods said that he wouldn't be playing a full schedule ever again. It will be the big events.
