Eugene Shvidler, a billionaire oil tycoon and close friend of Roman Abramovich, has a plane grounded by the UK.

Grant Shapps posted a video of the seized jet on Friday.

Putin's war in Ukraine has led to his cronies thinking that they can continue to fly in and out on jets like this or bring their superyachts to the UK and our message is simple: That just isn't true.

The British aircraft registry has stripped the plane of its flying privileges for the foreseeable future.

We are going to make sure that where Putin's cronies received largesse previously, that they can no longer do so.

The jet was supposed to be repaired at the airport in London, but it is still there. Shapps ordered it to be blocked from flights in order to investigate its ownership.

Shvidler has recently seized a private jet.

Shapps said in March that the UK had taken the Bombardier Global 6500 jet, which was registered as LX-Fly, at the airport.
