Will Smith's daughter performed on SNL before Colin Jost questioned the effectiveness of the Oscar ban.

In the latest edition of "Weekend Update", it was noted that Smith, who was banned from Academy events for 10 years after hitting Chris Rock on stage at the Oscars, can still win awards and attend after-parties.

He doesn't have to attend the four-hour ceremony where someone is going to make fun of his wife again.

After sharing a photo of himself and his SNL co-anchor Michael Che hosting the Emmy Awards, he joked that a real punishment for Smith would be to make him host next year's Oscars.

"Because trust me, nothing will make you question your choices in life more than hosting an awards show," said the host.

After theWeekend Update segment, Willow took the stage with Cabello to perform their song "Psycho freak" from Cabello's new album.

Representatives for Smith did not reply immediately.
