Brie Larson at the premiere of Marvel's Captain Marvel in 2019.

The Fast & Furious franchise has a surprising legacy of superheros being in their films, whether that's Vin Diesel as Groot or John Cena as Peacemaker. The real superhero in the cast is not in this picture, but in Morbius, where he is a cop. The Fast 10 franchise is getting another superhero actor in the form of Captain Marvel, and next year's Fast 10 will bring in another superhero in the form of Aquaman.

Diesel posted a picture of himself and Larson smiling together on Saturday night. He teases the importance of her character to the Fast universe in welcoming her to The Family. Good on her for achieving her goals.

It's possible that the person in Diesel's caption is connected to characters from the previous films, which isn't really saying anything. It may be a completely new character meant to add some new blood to the franchise. Diesel said that a female-led spinoff was in the works, and since F9 tried to address the franchise's weaknesses in this regard, actors Jordana Brewster and Michelle Rodriguez wanted to make sure their characters Letty and Mia shared on. Since Fast 11 is meant to be the last film in the series, it makes sense for the last film to set the stage for a new lead once Dom and his crew have put their cars in park. It is possible that the purpose of this is to get Team Toretto even further into space.

The movie Fast & Furious 10 will be released on May 19, 2023.
