Tucker Carlson said in a Friday segment of his Fox News show that teachers who discuss gender identity with young students are committing sexual abuse.

If you are not their parents, you shouldn't be talking about gender identity. Carlson said that you should be arrested for that. You get beaten up when you talk to your kids about sex in kindergarten. You should be beaten up.

The recently passed bill in Florida, dubbed "Don't Say Gay" by critics, restricts teachers from discussing gender identity and sexual orientation with students in kindergarten through third grade.

The Human Rights Campaign lowered Fox Corporation's Corporate Diversity Index score due to the coverage of the bill by Fox News.

Carlson was joined on the show by Matt Walsh, a political commentator for The Daily Wire. He denounced discussions of gender identity in schools as crazy and accused opponents of the bill of grooming children.

There is a reason why Democrats are treating this bill like it is the end of the world.

Carlson agreed, saying that you can't commit sexual abuse against my kids. It is sexual abuse. There are consequences if you commit it. There should be consequences. Like for real, I think.

Fox News did not reply immediately.
