  • The lawsuit claims that she is ineligible for government office because of her involvement in the Jan. 6 attack.

A federal judge indicated in a Friday hearing that she may allow a Jan. 6 constitutional challenge against a congressman.

The suit against the Georgia representative alleges that she aided and engaged in an insurrection to obstruct the peaceful transfer of presidential power, disqualifying her from serving as a Member.

During a hearing on Friday, Amy Totenberg of the Northern District of Georgia said she would make a decision on the complaint by Monday.

CNN reported that Judge Totenberg expressed she had significant questions and concerns over the challenge brought against Madison Cawthorne.

Two days before a Georgia state judge will hold a hearing on whether or not to disqualify her from office, Judge Totenberg will rule on the challenge.
