The manager of Crystal Palace says that he is disappointed that on-loan player Conor Gallagher will not be able to play against his parent club in the FA Cup semi-finals.
The player joined Palace on a season-long loan from the other side.
Loan players will not be allowed to play against the lending Club.
It is not the best rule. The only person who will lose is Conor.
It is an experience the player is missing and I am disappointed for him.
He has played all the games so far and if there is someone who deserves to be in the semi-final, it is him because of his performances.
The FA Cup semi-finals will take place on Sunday 17 April at Wembley.
The decision to send him on a loan is for him to play games.
We have an opportunity to play an important game and that will give him confidence and belief.
We could lose, but for him to be on the field is what he needs to keep progressing. It is frustrating for him not to have a chance to be involved in that game.
During his time at Selhurst Park, Gallagher has scored eight goals and made five assists.
He made his England debut in a win over San Marino in November, and also played in games against Switzerland and the Ivory Coast during the international break.
The coming week was expected to be difficult for the player after he was negatively impacted by the Palace draw.
The Palace boss said that the next day in training he was affected by that.
He knew that he wouldn't have the chance to be involved in the game. We are sympathetic to him.
He put his head back into training. When we enter the week of the game, it will be more difficult.
It will be challenging for him to not be involved in the team. That will be a challenge for him.
