Russian forces moved close to 170 of the National Guard soldiers who were guarding the Chernobyl nuclear plant into an underground shelter.
They were kept here for 30 days without adequate lighting and food. Denys Monastyrskyy, the Ukrainian Interior Minister, said that they were not allowed outside.
The 169 servicemen were taken away from the plant by the Russians on the last day. They might have been taken to Russia as prisoners of war.
He told CNN that they don't know anything about their fate.
Insider previously reported on reports of Russian soldiers being laissez-faire at the nuclear plant.
