Joe Exotic of “Tiger King” wrote Ben Roethlisberger a letter.

I didn't know Joe Exotic existed. The Tiger King was the king of the streaming service for a few months in 2020, but his fame vanished almost immediately afterwards. Even Tiger King Season 2 wasn't enough to bring Joseph back to the forefront of American pop culture. The man was sentenced to 21 years in prison for animal abuse and attempted murder for hire, but he is still trying to give his stepson a birthday present.

On Friday it was revealed that Maldonado-Passage sent a handwritten letter to Ben Roethlisberger asking him for a signed jersey for his stepson's birthday.

The letter is dated March 30, 2022. If he really wanted an autograph for his stepson, he wouldn't need to mention anything else. It seems like there was a different reason for him to send this letter. It would mean the world to my stepson if you gave him an autograph jersey, because he is a big fan of yours. If there is one thing I can assure Mr. Exotic, it is that Roethlisberger has no interest in big cat politics. He should be.

The letter claims that the stepson was promised a signed Roethlisberger jersey. Joe, you have to know better than to promise things you can't. You claim that your fans helped get everything else he wanted, and that it costs $600 for an autograph on eBay. How can your fans get everything your stepson wanted, yet not have the money for a jersey? I just looked at eBay and saw three jerseys with reasonable-looking signatures, going for less than $400 before shipping. How hard did you look? It took me one search.

I will give the woman some credit. The final paragraph of his letter appealed to Roethlisberger. I'm not talking about the part where he calls Big Ben his hero. That was played-out. Can you help a man who is fighting for his own freedom?

Big Ben had a fight of his life after he was accused of raping a woman in his hotel room. He was accused of raping a college student in a bar and had to fight for his freedom again. How can someone who has been through so much help Joe now? This was a brilliant move by Joe Exotic, from a man in prison to someone who could be.

I hope Roethlisberger doesn't give Exotic's stepson the jersey. If not getting his jersey is what it takes to be a better role model than Big Ben, then that is a sacrifice worth making.
