The weather on Mars is very dusty.

A camera on NASA's Mars rover spotted a wind gust in the red desert.

You can see the weather in the footage below, which was captured by one of the machine's Hazard-avoidance Cameras. The top image shows the Haz cam footage, while the bottom shows frames that have been changed to show how the gust moved.

Dust devils have been snapped by Mars rovers. The latest burst of dust is thought to be a wind gust, not a dust devil.

Dust storms are sometimes experienced on Mars. There are dust storms on Mars that last for weeks at a time, but they are also normal.

A dust storm can encompass much of the planet around every five years.

Mount Sharp is a peak inside the Gale crater and is being gradually climbed by the rover. The NASA robot is trying to determine if the planet could have ever been hospitable to small organisms.

There is no evidence of life beyond Earth.
