Tannenbaum: Lamar Jackson's patience will result in a big payday (1:20)

Lamar Jackson waited to sign a new contract with the Ravens, says Mike Tannenbaum. (1:20)

The Baltimore Ravens announced Saturday that Pro Bowl defensive end Calais Campbell is returning to the team on a two-year deal.

According to sources, Campbell's contract could be as much as $16.5 million with incentives.

After watching the Los Angeles Rams win the Superbowl, Campbell decided to return for his 15th NFL season. He will finish his career in Baltimore, where he spent the past two seasons, and try to get that elusive Super Bowl ring.

Over the past two days, the Ravens addressed two areas of need while bolstering their leadership on defense, bringing back middle linebacker Josh Bynes on Friday and then keeping Campbell on Saturday.

Lamar Jackson and Tony Jefferson II shared their reactions to Campbell's return.

Campbell is known for his ability to get to the quarterback. He had 4.5 sacks in two seasons with Baltimore, but he was more of a run-stopper than a pass-rush force.

Durability has been a problem for Campbell. Campbell missed six of his 25 games with Baltimore after his streak of 98 straight starts ended.

He is one of four players in the last 15 years to record at least 700 85 tackles. He has 93.5 career sacks and 773 career tackles.

After six trips to the playoffs, Campbell is still looking for his first Super Bowl title. He was selected in the second round of the 2008 draft by the ArizonaCardinals and played nine seasons with them before being traded to the Ravens for a fifth-round pick in 2020.
