When you transfer points to the program during the month of April, you can earn bonus redeemable and elite status miles.

  • You must transfer the equivalent of at least 10,000 miles in order to receive a bonus
  • Once miles are transferred, the transaction can’t be reversed
  • Bonus miles will post to accounts within 10 business days of April 30, 2022
  • Validity for this promotion is determined based on the date of the transfer provided by the partner program

Which transfer partners are eligible?

Only the following partners are eligible for this promotion.

Le Club Accor Hotels, Marriott, Shangri-La, World of Hyatt, HSBC UK, Capital One, Hyundai Card, Hana Bank, KTC, Inbursa, SC Brunei, SC Singapore, Ping An, CIMB, Kbank.

Most credit card transfer partners in the United States are excluded from this offer, so it's pretty restrictive.

There are three elite tiers for Etihad Guest.

  • Etihad Guest Silver requires 25,000 elite miles to earn, 20,000 elite miles to maintain
  • Etihad Guest Gold requires 50,000 elite miles to earn, 40,000 elite miles to maintain
  • Etihad Guest Platinum requires 125,000 elite miles to earn, 100,000 elite miles to maintain

You could potentially earn 20,000 elite miles with this promotion, which would give you 80% of the way to entry level status. The catch is that guest silver status isn't worth much.

If I didn't have status, would I bother to transfer miles? Absolutely not. It definitely makes sense if I were an Etihad frequent flyer and this could help me reach the next elite tier.

There is a promotion when transferring rewards. If you transfer rewards from partners during the month of April, you can receive 40% bonus miles and both status and redemption miles.

I wouldn't take advantage of this promotion if I weren't loyal to the airline, but if it could help you reach a higher tier, it would be worth it.

Is anyone planning to take advantage of this promotion?
