Tiger Woods had a strong closing stretch during the second round of the Masters.

Woods finished with a two-over par 74 on Friday after a fantastic 71 in the opening round. He heads into the weekend with a one-over par.

It feels like a huge win for Woods to finish as close to par as he did. The five-time Masters champion had the worst start of his career.

Tiger Woods is 3-over through four holes, his worst score through four holes in 92 career rounds at the Masters Tournament.#theMasters

On the fifth hole, Woods made a bogey to put him at four-over par for the day. It seemed like he was going to have a hard time making the cut.

After making back-to-back pars on holes six and seven, Woods got a shot back with his first par on the par-five eighth hole. He set up an easy putt with a chip shot from just off the green that stopped two feet from the pin.

Woods made a par on the ninth to make the turn at three-over par. His best shot of the day was on No. 10, when he used his iron to hit the ball 206 yards to the hole for his second eagle of the day.

The commentators openly rooting for Tiger on the broadcast like they are the local PxP team has been excellent.

The good vibes quickly turned sour for Woods. His par putt on the 11th hole was pushed left and he settled for a bogey.

On the 12th hole, Woods hit a bush and went into the water. His shot from the rough stopped before he got to the grass. He nearly saved par, but the ball did not break enough before rolling past the hole.

Woods was at three-over par going onto the 13th. The man took a conservative approach to the hole. He didn't get onto the green until his fourth shot, but he left himself with an easy putt to get a shot back.

Woods was a little more aggressive on the next hole. He got a bounce off the edge of the rough when he went for the green in two, and his ball stopped nine feet from the cup.

Tiger Woods is being Tiger Woods and it’s fun

Just once in my life I want to feel whatever Tiger Woods is feeling right now. Must be the gnarliest cocktail of pain, meds, focus and pure adrenaline. Sounds like a ton of fun.

Woods made par on each of his last three holes to get some positive vibes going into the weekend. He told reporters earlier this week that he thought a win was possible.

His quest for a sixth green jacket was made more difficult by Friday's stumbles. Woods is capable of making up ground over the final 36 holes, but just making the cut feels like a win in itself, considering he hasn't played in 14 months.

Woods is playing with money. The crowd at Augusta National will be behind him. He isn't going to coast on his own, especially with how quickly he can get hot.
