DeChambeau said his doctors weren't sure if he should play in the first major of the season.
He said that they recommended that he not come back for a while.
Among the players who missed the cut were: Jordan Spieth (6 over), Gary Woodland (8 over), and Gary Johnson (5 over).
In his last two Masters appearances, the four-time major champion missed the cut. It was the first missed cut for the 2015 Masters champion.
He admitted before the tournament that he was not at full strength.
He said that he was probably around 80%.
Another long-drive competition was on the agenda for next week. He was unsure if he would go through with it.
He said that it may not be the smartest thing to do.
