Booker said that Kobe Bryant encouraged him to improve his diet, which has led to more durability on the court.

The Phoenix Suns star guard told Insider that he used to eat a lot of fast food, especially his favorite chicken from the fast-food chain Raising Cane.

My diet has not always been the best. Booker said that he would gravitate towards fried food like chicken fingers and have his favorite fast-food restaurants lined up on his Postmates.

Bryant gave Booker tips on how to be a top NBA player, which inspired Booker to change his diet and lifestyle to stay healthy.

Booker said he uses whole grains, complex carbs, and lean proteins in his meals.

Booker will sometimes treat himself to a cheat meal, such as Raising Cane's.

Bryant emphasized the importance of sacrifice as a team leader and athlete according to Booker. He said that advice helped him become a star point guard for the Suns. He plays in both minutes with 34.4 per game and starts at 67.

Booker said that Kobe told him there were no steps that were not taken to achieve greatness at the highest level. You have to give up things you don't want.

Booker admires the career longevity of his teammate and 36-year-old NBA veteran Chris Paul, who follows a vegan diet. At some point in Booker's career, he would consider changing to a vegan diet.

Booker now only drinks water and coconut water after cutting out sports drinks. He founded his own coconut water brand.

Coconut water has checked off many boxes for me when it comes to meeting performance goals. Booker said the taste is great, but it is amazing to be able to replenish with that many electrolytes.
