It took Apple a long time to embrace gallium nitride for its current MacBook Pro, and it often stuck to the basic 5W iPhone adapters. The company may be willing to explore new territory. 9to5Mac and AppleInsider report that Apple briefly posted a support document for a 35W dual port power amplifier on its website. The accessory would support the standard for fast charging.

It is not clear if the brick would use GaN or have special features. The 35W suggests that this would be for mobile devices. You could fast-charge an iPhone 13 Pro Max, but still leave enough power for an Apple Watch or AirPods. If you insist on an official solution, multi-port chargers might be appealing.

It is not clear when the dual-port power adapter will be released by Apple. This isn't the sort of product that would get screen time at an event like WWDC, and there's no guarantee it would debut with a higher-profile device. The debut could be months away, even though this slip-up might hint at an imminent launch.
